Acquisition running lights and target vehicle status display indicators were situated on the front end. The docking cone was connected to the front end by shock absorbing dampers. A minimum of five engine starts was possible. The Agena propulsion systems could be run while the Gemini was docked, allowing the GATV to be used to change the orbit of the docked pair. Propulsion was via a bi-propellant system, using unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine (UDMH) and inhibited red fuming nitric acid (IRFNA). The primary and secondary propulsion systems were at the aft end of the target vehicle with the attitude control gas tanks, and the main propellant (fuel and oxidizer) tanks were located in the mid-section. The forward section of the Agena airframe held the guidance, flight control electronics, telemetry, command, tracking, electrical power, and propellant pressurization equipment. The GATV was a 7.93 meter long cylinder with a diameter of 1.52 meters, a dry mass of 1835 kg, and a fueled mass at orbital injection of 3282 kg. The GATV had a docking cone at the forward end into which the nose of the Gemini spacecraft could be inserted and held with docking latches. The Gemini Agena Target Vehicle was designed to be launched into Earth orbit prior to a Gemini mission and used for rendezvous and docking practice. In total, the GATV received and executed 1700 commands, 1350 from ground control and 350 from Gemini 10. Another primary system firing followed by a secondary system firing resulted in a circular 352 km orbit. After reentry of Gemini 10, a primary propulsion system firing put the GATV into a 386.6 x 1390.8 km orbit to determine temperature effects of such a high orbit on the vehicle (no appreciable differences were found). Gemini 10 separated from the GATV at 2:00 p.m. on 19 July brought the spacecraft into a near-circular 380 km orbit, the same orbit as the GATV which had been launched on 16 March for the Gemini 8 mission. While the spacecraft were docked, a bending mode test was conducted to study spacecraft dynamics. A 14-second burn of the GATV primary propulsion system was used to raise the dual spacecraft apogee to 764 km. To conserve fuel, Gemini 10 remained docked to GATV-10 for the next 39 hours and used the GATV propulsion system for maneuvers. A large out-of-plane error in the initial Gemini 10 orbit required use of 60% of its fuel for the rendezvous, over twice the planned amount. Gemini 10, which was launched an hour and 40 minutes later, achieved rendezvous with the GATV at 10:43 p.m. The Gemini 10 Agena Target Vehicle (GATV 5005) was successfully launched from Cape Kennedy on Jat 3:39:46 p.m. Learnability: Notability app is well designed and easy to use, including a training "note". This new amendment, added Bauer, will be especially helpful in those cases where the responsibility of payment was unclear. Now, said Bauer, the new Sectional Title Amendment Act, about to be promulgated (Provision 5,5 (a)) will make all window maintenance the joint 50/50 responsibility of the owners and the body corporate irrespective of the window’s actual location in relation to the median line. Window frames, said Bauer, can be either on the median line, inside it or outside it - “which of course means that the whole matter of their maintenance was bound to lead to controversy”. If it was placed on the median line the responsibility was shared. Michael Bauer, the sectional title expert and the general manager of the sectional title management company IHFM, said recently that previously the Sectional Title Act specified that any items inside the median line drawn through the middle of the unit’s outer walls was the full responsibility of the owner, while any items outside that line was the full responsibility of the body corporate. Some of the territorial dioceses extend into Canada. The archdiocese is divided in eight territorial dioceses and one vicariate. Metropolitan Joseph served as the body's first vice chairman. The archdiocese is a participating member of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America. Metropolitan Joseph retired in 2022 following allegations of sexual misconduct. Metropolitan Philip died in 2014 and was succeeded by Metropolitan Joseph Al-Zehlaoui. As of 2011, it also has 249 parishes in the United States with two monastic communities. Six other diocesan bishops assisted the metropolitan in caring for the archdiocese, which is the third largest Orthodox Christian jurisdiction in North America, with 74,600 adherents in the United States, 27,300 of whom are regular church attendees. Its leader from 1966 until 2014 was Metropolitan Philip Saliba. Since then, it has experienced significant growth through ongoing evangelization of North Americans and the immigration of Orthodox Christian Arabs from the Middle East. In 1975, the two Antiochian Orthodox archdioceses were united as one Archdiocese of North America (now with its headquarters in Englewood, New Jersey). Due to internal conflicts, however, the Antiochian Orthodox faithful in North America became divided between two archdioceses, those of New York City and Toledo. Īfter the Bolshevik Revolution threw the Russian Orthodox Church and its faithful abroad into chaos, the Syro-Levantine Greek Orthodox Christian faithful in North America, simultaneously shaken by the death of their beloved bishop, Raphael, chose to come under the direct care of the Damascus-based Patriarchate of Antioch. The Antiochian Orthodox followers were originally cared for by the Russian Orthodox Church in America and the first bishop consecrated in North America, Raphael of Brooklyn, was consecrated by the Russian Orthodox Church in America in 1904 to care for the Syro-Levantine Greek Orthodox Christian Ottoman immigrants to the United States and Canada, who had come chiefly from the vilayets of Adana, Aleppo, Damascus, and Beirut (the birthplace of the community's founder, Raphael of Brooklyn). It is one of three Orthodox Christian jurisdictions in North America to currently practice the liturgical Western Rite as well as the Byzantine Rite, along with the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia and the Orthodox Church in America. By 2014, the archdiocese had grown to over 275 parish churches. Internal conflicts divided the Antiochian Orthodox faithful into two parallel archdioceses - those of New York and Toledo - until 1975, when Metropolitan Philip (Saliba) became the sole archbishop of the reunited Antiochian Archdiocese. Originally under the care of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Syro-Levantine Eastern Orthodox Christian immigrants to the United States and Canada were granted their own jurisdiction under the Church of Antioch in the wake of the Bolshevik Revolution. The Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America ( AOCANA), often referred to in North America as simply the Antiochian Archdiocese, is the jurisdiction of the Greek Orthodox Church of Antioch in the United States and Canada. They considered Rita’s birth as a gift from God as they were already advanced in years by the time she was born.įrom an early age, Rita longed to become a nun and she would frequently visit the convent of the Augustinian nuns in Cascia. She was the only child of Antonio and Amata Lotti, who were known as peacemakers in their community. Saint Rita of Cascia was born in a village called Roccaporena, near Cascia, Italy in 1381. On one occasion, Rita requested a rose to be brought to her from her garden at Porena in the middle of winter. Rita then entered the convent, made her profession, and lived the life of a holy and devout religious for forty-two years: “A shining example of every Christian virtue, pure as a lily, simple as a dove, and obedient as an angel.” That “God is wonderful in His saints” is easily proven in the life of Saint Rita. In situations where there are large scale convoys disrupting daily life, it would allow police to take the vehicles to restore law and order, she said. Police spokesperson Ginny Andersen told media: "What we're announcing today is specifically targeting convoys so if there would be an intent to intimidate the public and two or more driving along committing some infringements, that would give police the opportunity then to be able to take those vehicles." "This builds on our effective work in government to curb the illegal profits and offending of gangs, including passing laws to give police more powers during gang conflicts." "Labour will introduce laws to punish this behaviour and develop new ways to target gangs leaders and break their international links. Hipkins said: "Recently, we've seen communities disrupted and intimidated by dangerous gang convoys. Labour had also promised to crackdown on gangs. On mental health staff, Hipkins said he was still committed to previously made commitments to increase staff, but more work was needed to train the workforce. Recently passed legislation also provides more rights and protections to victims of family and sexual violence."Īsked whether he would commit to 24/7 security staff at every hospital emergency department in the country, Hipkins said he did not think that would be necessary in every instance, but they would work with Te Whatu Ora in terms of hospitals where safety concerns had been raised. we've established a new criminal offence for strangulation, tripled funding for the Victims Assistance Scheme and doubled funding for Victim Support. "This builds on our effective work in Government to curb the illegal profits and offending of gangs, including passing laws to give Police more powers during gang conflicts. "National's policies on gangs will see Police provided with softer, tokenistic and ineffective measures to tackle organised crime and the reintroduction of bootcamps, which have an 80 percent failure rate." "Taxpayers will be forking out for their American-style mega prisons and there is a risk of more high-powered military-style guns getting into the hands of gangs and other criminals due to ACT's firearms proposals," he said. Hipkins continued to attack National, saying New Zealanders would be less safe if they were elected. "This was a deliberate policy to support our frontline and increase community safety, following a decade of underinvestment by the previous National government, which resulted in 30 police stations closing around the country." This is three times the amount National delivered over the same timeframe, when they were last in office. "With 300 more cops we would increase the frontline by 2100 officers since we came into office. This will be a huge improvement on the one in 541 ratio in 2017. Hipkins said the increase in police staffing would mean one officer for every 470 New Zealanders. However, this was not expected to be fully in operation for five years. It promised to free up police time by ensuring a multi-agency response in every district including a mental health professional able to respond to callouts alongside ambulance and police. The party's policy said 10 percent of all 111 calls were for people in mental distress - equating to over 6000 officer hours in May 2023 alone - despite such events often having little effect on crime or public safety. The increase in police staffing was expected to cost $124 million over four years, with numbers ramping up over that time: 50 new officers in the first year ($9m), 75 in each of the second and third ($23m and $37m), and 100 more in the fourth financial year 2027/28 ($55m). Police had been doing a great job on youth offending and cracking down on gang activities, he said. It means people would see police on the beat more and police will have more resources to deal with crime when it arises, Hipkins said. He said the 300 new officers would be constables with full arrest powers, and would be a net increase over and above any attrition rates - making for the highest ratio of police to population in modern history. Hipkins made the announcement after a visit to the Chamber of Commerce and the city council's crime-camera control room in Hamilton on Thursday. He said Labour would also explore making "stalking" a crime, in line with similar laws in Australia and the UK which have penalties of up to three years in prison, and more for aggravating factors. Labour leader Chris Hipkins is promising to add another 300 frontline police, and expand the use of mental health officers to respond to callouts, if elected.
